Residents of Telford are being encouraged explore what the district’s independent traders have to offer as part of Small Business Saturday.

The annual event takes place this year on Saturday, 3 December and is a national scheme designed to encourage people to use and support small businesses.

The national campaign promotes small businesses and invites consumers to shop in their communities. Telford has more than 250 small businesses in the town and surrounding area meaning half of all retail businesses are independents.

Among the best local small businesses to visit  for Christmas gift shopping include:

Blue by Jan Park, Market Place, Shifnal

Big Little Things - floristry & gifts, Apley Farm Shop, nr Shifnal or shop online

The Jeanshack & Vintage, High Street, Ironbridge or shop online
