This special event in the Civic calendar is this year celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and will once again be held at the Best Western Valley Hotel, situated in the Ironbridge Gorge.

The Mayor supported by his wife, the Mayoress Mrs Christine Smith, is delighted to be hosting his guests in the Severn Suite which will be transformed for the evening with a ‘street party’ theme. Guests will be welcomed with a drinks reception in The Mews before being served a three-course meal based on the Great British menu from the two AA rosette awarded restaurant.

Tickets for the ball have been sold and a number of giving opportunities will take place on the night including a raffle and auction. All funds raised will go towards the Mayor’s Charity Appeal. The Mayor who is personally affected by diabetes has this year chosen to support Diabetes UK (Telford branch). Diabetes UK is the largest charity organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, their carers, family and friends. They provide practical information and safety-net services to help people live with the condition and manage their diabetes better as well as funding research and campaigning.
