Solicitors from a Midlands law firm will be stepping out of their comfort zone to raise funds for the region’s Midlands Air Ambulance charity.

Harriet Critchley, Mark Turner and Sophie-Ann Bridges, who all work for FBC Manby Bowdler, will compete in the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run on October 18 to support the Midlands Air Ambulance charity.

The race is the biggest half marathon in the Midlands and takes in iconic city sites including the Bullring, Cadbury World in Bournville and Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

Just under a week later, Sophie-Ann will take on the charity’s 24-hour Bear Grylls survival challenge on October 24.

It involves hiking across Dartmoor, building shelters and preparing food before sleeping with the elements. It also includes an early-morning training session, a ‘gross eat’ challenge and more with instructors who have worked closely with the survival expert on many of his programmes.

Harriet is an Associate with FBC Manby Bowdler and is part of the firm’s Agriculture & Rural Services team in Shrewsbury. Telford based Mark recently qualified as a solicitor in the Town & Country Planning department and Sophie-Ann works in Wolverhampton for the Personal Injury department.

The intrepid trio are aiming to raise hundreds of pounds for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which was adopted by FBC Manby Bowdler as one of its charity partners for 2015 to 2017.

The charity has the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands.

Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 42,000 missions and averages 2,000 per year.

Managing Partner Kim Carr said: “We wish them all the very best in the half marathon which is a gruelling enough event for anyone. But for Sophie-Ann to then take on the survival challenge is nothing short of admirable!

“As a firm, FBC Manby Bowdler is firmly committed to being an active support of our charity partners but they are all – literally – going the extra mile to support a very worthy cause, that provides a vital service to our community.”
