On Monday 14th May, a group of 3 intrepid cyclists, including the MD of Bodyshop Express, set off on a cold and damp morning from Silverstone, to start their epic ride through France, ending up in Monaco.

This in itself sounds quite a mammoth task, and more so when you think that the total distance is 1,000 miles, and they plan to cover this in just 10 days! And not a single comfortable hotel stay, and no nice hot baths, as at the end of each day, the three riders will just collapse into the Motorhome that is accompanying them.

After a lap around Silverstone, the riders, Jon Parker (48) from Bodyshop Express, Dave Hyland (52) and Dane Hyland (21) both from Fylde Accident Repair Centre, set off in the chilly British Spring weather on Monday down to the South coast, where, after an overnight stop, they took the Eurostar over to France. Then it was off through France, using the French side roads wherever possible.

Today, 17th May and Day 4, they have reached the Champagne region of France (time for a stock up of a case or 2!), and then continue South.

The last couple of days will see our riders heading up into the Alps, climbing to an altitude of over 6,500 ft and a 20 degree drop in temperature, before heading down the other side and into Monaco.

When they reach Monaco, they will be met by Eddie Jordan from the F1 Team, which should brighten their spirits, no doubt.
