T-Picnic is set to be a unique cultural extravaganza of music, dance and food from around the world. The all day event, which will take place on Saturday September 3 and will be held in QEII Fields In Trust Telford Town Park Arena, has entertainment for all the family such as puppet workshops and shows, making your own carrot recorder, Bhangra dancing and workshops and folk dancing!

Live music will be provided by international acts including Spark and the London Vegetable Orchestra as well as local artists.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnics to T-Picnic or try something new from the world food stalls.

T-Picnic is one of three events in Telford this summer branded as Festival Telford and supported by a grant from Arts Council England. It is also sponsored by Telford Shopping Centre.

The event will conclude with a light and pyrotechnic show finale during the evening which should not be missed.

Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Culture, Sports, Parks and Green Spaces, said: “We’ve got a strong record of successful events in the Town Park and T-Picnic promises to be an excellent addition to that.

“It should be a fantastic day out for all the family with a wide variety of entertainment and I would encourage people of all ages to come and enjoy this great event.”
