After rehearsing day in day out since the beginning of December pre-school children at ABC @ Hoo performed their Christmas nativity Shine Star Shine on Friday December 12.
The Christmas show took place in the farmyard barn at neighbouring children’s attraction Hoo Farm at Preston on the Weald Moors and children were joined in the performance by real sheep, lamas and a donkey.
Parents, who enjoyed the show sitting on real hay bales, were treated to mince pies and mulled wine.
Penny Hustwick, owner of ABC Day Nursery, said: “This is our second Christmas show at ABC @ Hoo and we were fortunate again this year to be able to use the barn at Hoo Farm to add that slightly magical touch to the nativity.
“It’s the perfect location and having real animals in the show just makes it all the more spectacular.
“The children have been working really hard practising their songs since the beginning of December and they all did fantastic.
“They were all very excited to see their parents in the audience and there was such a wonderful atmosphere.
“It’s always a really special occasion for parents to see their children take part in their first nativity and the performance certainly brought a few tears to their eyes.”
Children at ABC’s three other nursery sites in Lightmoor, Hadley and Hollinswood have also been preparing and putting on Christmas performances for their parents.
Children performed their show at Hadley on Wednesday December 10, and at Hollinswood on Thursday December 11, whilst youngsters at Lightmoor held their nativity on Tuesday December 16.
The shows round off another hugely successful year for ABC Day Nursery with all all four sites being rated outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
