SHROPSHIRE SOLICITORS REWARD ‘OUTSTANDING POTENTIAL’

An award-winning legal trainee praised for her “outstanding potential in property law” has secured promotion at a leading Shropshire solicitors’ firm.

Ellen Tranter has progressed to the role of Trainee Solicitor in the Commercial Department at PCB Solicitors after successfully completing her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Staffordshire University.

A biomedical sciences graduate from Warwick University, Ellen swapped the lab for the law and joined PCB Solicitors in May 2010 as a Legal Secretary, where she has subsequently combined a full-time role with achieving her post-graduate LPC qualification, which provides the practical training required to progress to become a fully-fledged solicitor.

Her accomplishments on the course were recognised by winning the annual Lynne Thornton Conveyancing Award, after tutors deemed her the student with the most “outstanding potential in property law” out of more than 100 contemporaries taking the course.

“Ellen’s promotion is richly deserved, and the award she gained during her studies only confirms what we already knew here – that she is exceptionally talented and has a great career ahead of her,” Mike Surzyn, Partner and Solicitor at PCB Solicitors, commented. “We will continue to support Ellen in her ongoing training and development, and look forward to her playing a vital role in our Commercial Department in the years ahead.”

Ellen Tranter said: “This promotion is a really positive step and I’d like to thank all the Partners at PCB Solicitors for encouraging me and supporting me during my studies. I am really looking forward to getting to grips with my day-to-day duties, especially the residential and commercial conveyancing side of my role, which I’m particularly interested in.”
