Scout Groups needed to help with community research

Carewatch are looking for Scout groups to help with some community research into the needs of the elderly and infirm.  To help with this research, Carewatch have organised a picture competition, asking children to find out what their grandparents enjoy doing so they can draw a picture to enter for the competition.

The winning entry receives a prize of £50 in vouchers and £500 in vouchers for their scout group or other chosen organisation. The grandparent (or chosen elderly person) also receives a free gift and a free newsletter as a thank-you for taking part.

Carewatch enlisted the help of 2nd Donnington Scouts Group in piloting the competition.  Jack won the prize for the best picture from the Cubs.  Group Scout Leader Simon Heyes said:  “The competition has been great fun, the children have created some really colourful pictures and it’s been an excellent community project.”

The competition is now open for entries from children age 4 to 11 inclusive and is free to enter.  Competition entry forms can be downloaded from www.carewatch-sws.co.uk.  If you would like to receive an entry form by post just send a stamped, addressed envelope to Carewatch at Cornerstone House, Stafford Park 13, Telford, Shropshire, TF3 3AZ.  The closing date is 20th July, 2011.
