SEG Chief Executive, Tom Gray, explained, "We have rebranded the hotel to increase its prominence in the local market, and to give it a brand identity which fits well with our existing reputation for style, comfort and superb customer service. All existing staff will stay with us; this is purely a change in image to position our hotel more clearly for guests and event organisers."

Tom continued, "We are delighted to have joined forces with Ramada, which is part of the Wyndham Hotel Group with over 7,410 hotels worldwide. Crucially, guests at the hotel will now be eligible for the Wyndham Rewards programme where valuable points for stays can be redeemed against a variety of rewards including airline travel, event tickets, gift certificates, and restaurants."

He concluded, "We are committed to constantly improving the service we offer to our guests at all our venues, and by joining with the Wyndham Group, we believe we can offer great benefits and experiences to everyone who stays with us."

Stuart Smith, Director of Operations and Support for Wyndham Hotel Group, said: "We are very pleased to work with Southwater Event Group and add Ramada Telford Ironbridge to our growing list of destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short hop from The International Centre and major leisure attractions, and we are confident the hotel will continue to be a firm favourite with both business and leisure guests alike."

The Hotel's General Manager Mel Stanton said: "I'm immensely proud of the excellent levels of service we already achieve at the hotel and the rebrand to Ramada makes this a very exciting time for both the team and our guests".

Since taking over the hotel in 2007, Southwater Event Group has invested a huge amount in Grays, refurbishing all 90 en-suite bedrooms, and future plans are in place to make more improvements to the reception area, the bar and the restaurant. The hotel has everything for the business or leisure traveller, including a heated swimming pool and gym, and a games room. There are also 15 meeting and conference rooms with integrated audio visual equipment.
