Mike Cosgrove has launched the venture and is hoping to create more jobs in the future and make the brand so successful he could take it on to the high street and expand into other business centres.

Ecky Griffiths, the chef who has scooped the job to run the diner, has worked for Radisson Blu in Germany and at RAF Shawbury.

Mr Cosgrove, Sofood! Director said: “We are looking forward to establishing the diner as one of the best in the area. “The idea is to provide breakfasts and lunches to businesses in and around the Queensway, but anybody can come in and have a meal, just a coffee or hold a business meeting here. “All the food is freshly cooked and good quality, locally sourced, which is really important for us. “This is something the staff at the diner pride ourselves on as opposed to offering a greasy bacon sandwich you might get elsewhere.” The diner can seat 32 people and the idea is to provide food throughout the day, not only to local businesses but also to individuals or groups who just pop in. “Word is certainly spreading, last week we had a group of golfers come in for breakfast after completing their round of golf. Due to the location and the parking we have become quite an attraction in just a few weeks,”Mr Cosgrove said.

There are conference rooms available if a company wants a business lunch or breakfast and Maple House boasts free parking outside the premises. Sofood! is also offering a delivery service for those who cannot travel due to work commitments or needs delivery for catering of a corporate event elsewhere.

“There are options, such as salads, paninis and homemade beefburgers. There are also vegetarian options as well. There is something for everybody and we can cater for dietary requirements.

“The beauty of it is the menu can be adapted and items changed depending on what is popular. What is important is that people love the food and keep coming back.” he added. The diner, which employs three staff, is open from 7.30am to mid-afternoon, Monday to Friday.

Mr Cosgrove added: “We envisage we will need more staff very soon and hope to give people opportunities through work experience and apprenticeships in the near future.”

Landlords of Maple House are hoping to attract even more companies to the business centre following its £250,000 revamp. A number of training courses and conferences have already been held at Maple House.
