Igloo of fun at Telford Nursery

Staff at a Telford nursery worked long into the night to complete a giant milk bottle igloo in time for a visit from Santa.

And their efforts didn’t go unnoticed by children attending ABC Day Nursery who got to sit inside the grotto and receive a present from Father Christmas.

Staff at the Hoo Farm nursery, located in Preston On The Weald Moors, began collecting milk bottles at the end of November.

And, thanks to generous donations from parents and local businesses they were able to construct the giant igloo just in the nick of time.

Nursery owner Penny Hustwick said: “We needed around 400 milk bottles to construct the igloo but we couldn’t have collected this many without the wonderful help of parents and local businesses.

“Nursery staff have been returning to nursery at night to build the igloo and it has not been an easy task.

“Getting the milk bottles to stick together to form the dome shape has been tricky to say the least.

“But it was all worth it to see the look on the children’s faces when they came into nursery on Friday for their Christmas party.

“They were treated to a visit from Santa and received a little Christmas present inside the grotto.

“It was really magical and we would like to say a huge thanks to all those who helped support us by donating bottles and making the party extra special.”
