Two gorillas are coming to the Town Park courtesy of Oswestry based The British Ironworks Centre. Their arrival coincides with the Park’s water play feature opening for the season from Good Friday.
The Gorilla's, which can be found in the Park’s Chelsea and Maxell Gardens, mark the beginning of the Spring and Summer events in Telford Town Park.
Easter events include a guided nature trail and the eagerly anticipated Spring into the Park - Telford & Wrekin Council’s celebration of the Town Park being voted the best in the country in the Fields In Trust awards.
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “We are very proud of our award-winning Town Park and the Easter break is when it really comes into its own.
“We are looking forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide and we feel we have a varied programme of family activities for people to enjoy, with Spring Into The Park on Saturday 2 April very much the showcase.
“Hopefully we will nice weather over the next couple of weeks and lots of people will come out to enjoy our beautiful park.”
