Jan Park at Blue Florists is celebrating with her fantastic staff after receiving an order to provide personal flowers for Sir Elton John!
Its great when something like this happens, it creates a buzz and excitement in the shop. There is also a degree of nerves, hoping we get it right and select the right flowers for the man himself! I knew that he did not like certain flowers and foliages but the choice of the biggest of the 8 arrangements was left to me! I knew that he liked spring flowers but of course in June that is not an option! I decided to select traditional, fragrant English country flowers including peony, stocks, roses and hydrangea, and thankfully they were very well received! We have provided flowers for a number of stars and celebrities over the years but this was the biggest!
Having said that, most days are exciting at Blue. You never know what is going to come in next and the skill of the florist is to be ready to fulfill the next order, whatever and whoever it is for!
