A concert of French sacred and secular choral music.

A Sunday afternoon concert packed with the wonderful melodies of French composers such as Fauré whose complete 'Requiem' is featured. In a vivid contrast, there follows an exploration of the secular, sensuous aspects of French choral music where associated  emotions of joy and disappointment are described within a wide variety of melodies, musical styles and choral colours by some of France's greatest composers of the 19th & 20th centuries  - Canteloube 'Baíléro' from Chants d'Auvergne, Hahn 'A Chloris' and works by Ravel, Debussy and Poulenc.

Performed by the chamber choir, Somerset Voices,  conducted by Graham Caldbeck  and accompanied by Andrew Carter.
