Will we see you at this year's Minehead Triathlon? Channel Events are running a jam packed Triathlon including a sea swim to start!

Minehead Triathlon makes the most of its local area, using the beach to both start and finish the race! Opening with a 750m sea swim that's in the shadows of the North Hill, but within the safety of the bay, the race then moves to the bike section of the event, where you ride 20km in and around the village of Porlock, which has breathtaking views. The last section of the triathlon is, of course, the run. It's 5km and takes you on a range of terrains, starting with the paved seafront, but quickly moving to off-road trails within the woods of Culver Cliff, and finishing off on the beach, but not before a 'Cheeky Climb' as named on Strava that the event managers call a good last minute "sting in the tail"! At the end feel free to celebrate proudly as you collect your medal- you'll have deserved it!

This year the event will be slightly different due to covid restrictions in the respect that the briefing will be delivered via a Pre-Event info pack, so please read this carefully! They also encourage you sadly to bring no adoring fans, Channel Events love to have lots of people there to cheer you on, but this year you'll have to make do with the encouraging cheers of Marshalls as you go round.

The event is very safe and well marshalled, with appropriate signage throughout the route, and bouys and safety kayakers on the swim section. If the sea is too rough then the event becomes a duathlon, with the run being done twice in a run-bike-run pattern, but due notice is given with any changes that occur.
