Looking for an exciting half-term activity that gets children moving, building confidence and trying something new? YMCA Taunton is proud to host a high-energy dance camp led by professional dancer Tom Cherrie (aka @cinnamonstickz).

Taking place on Wednesday 27 May, this half-day camp introduces young people to the culture, history and creativity of breaking (breakdancing) in a welcoming and supportive environment.

What is Breaking Boundaries?
Breaking Boundaries is much more than just a dance class. Throughout the day, participants will:
-- Learn the foundations of breaking
-- Explore the history and culture behind the dance
-- Enjoy music, movement, creative play, video inspiration and relaxed chill time
-- Express themselves through art, rhythm and freestyle movement

No dance experience is needed. Complete beginners are very welcome. This camp is designed as a fun introduction and a chance to try breaking before regular weekly sessions begin in June.

Session Times - the camp is split into two age-appropriate sessions:

Morning Session – Wednesday 27th May (ages 7-10)
- Start: 10am
- Finish: 1pm
- Ages 7-10
- Includes a 30-minute break at the end.
- Please bring a packed lunch.
- Collection time: 1pm

Afternoon Sesson – Wednesday 27th May (ages 11-16)
- Start: 2pm
- Finish: 5pm
- Ages 11-16
- Collection time: 5pm
- Please let us know if you are happy for your young person to leave without a parent/carer collecting

Maximum 12 participants per session to ensure high-quality teaching and individual attention.

Who’s Leading the Camp?
Sessions are led by Tom Cherrie (aka @cinnamonstickz), a professional dancer with extensive experience teaching young people. Tom is passionate about using breaking to help children build confidence, creativity, fitness and a strong sense of self-expression.
