Founded in 1876, Chard Rugby Football Club (Chard RFC) is one of Somerset’s oldest and most welcoming rugby clubs. Based just a short walk from Chard town centre, the club has a proud community spirit and a full programme for players of all ages and abilities.
The club colours — red, black, and yellow — are well known locally, and match days bring a fantastic atmosphere for players, families, and supporters alike.
Chard RFC runs men’s, women’s, and youth teams, making it a true family club.

Boys’ and girls’ teams from Under-6s through to Under-16s, plus Colts (U17–U18)

From Chard town centre, head towards the Weatherspoons pub and turn into Essex Close — the ground is a short walk from there.
🚌 By Bus:
Chard is well served by local bus routes from Taunton, Yeovil, Crewkerne, and Axminster.
🚗 By Car:
There’s no on-site parking at the ground. Use postcode TA20 1RH for your satnav but park in nearby public car parks.
🚉 By Train:
The nearest mainline stations are Crewkerne and Axminster, both around 20 minutes away by car or taxi.
