Step back in time and onto the dance floor with Mrs B’s Rock, Roll and Stroll Lessons—fun, friendly weekly sessions in Taunton and Weston-super-Mare where great music, relaxed learning and a welcoming community come together to keep the spirit of the Fifties and Sixties alive.

Mrs B’s Rock, Roll and Stroll Lessons bring energy, fun and a real sense of community to the dance floor, offering a welcoming space for anyone looking to learn, socialise and enjoy great music. Held weekly in both Taunton and Weston-super-Mare, these lively sessions are perfect for beginners and experienced dancers alike, with a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere that makes it easy to join in.

Every Monday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, Mrs B hosts her popular classes at The Lawns Social Club in Taunton, while Tuesday evenings see the same vibrant sessions take place at Weston-Super-Mare Working Men’s Club. Each class blends Rock ‘n’ Roll and Stroll dancing, giving attendees the chance to learn classic steps, improve technique and build confidence on the dance floor.

And of course, the music is at the heart of it all. You’ll be dancing to all your old favourites, and if you’re newer to the scene, you’ll quickly discover just why the sounds of the Fifties and Sixties are still considered so cool. The playlists are guaranteed to get your feet moving and keep the atmosphere lively all evening.

Mrs B is known for her friendly, approachable teaching style, ensuring everyone feels comfortable regardless of experience. Whether you come on your own, with a partner or as part of a group, you’ll be warmly welcomed and encouraged to enjoy the music, movement and social side of dancing.

The lessons are intentionally kept accessible to all, with no set price to attend. Instead, dancers are invited to leave a donation in the box, helping to cover the cost of the venues while keeping the sessions open and inclusive for everyone.

There’s no need for any special clothing either—just wear something comfortable that you can move easily in, along with suitable shoes. While many dancers love to dress up in vintage-inspired outfits and really embrace the Rock ‘n’ Roll spirit, you’ll just as often see people in jeans and trainers, so you can come exactly as you are.

Beyond the weekly classes, there’s a fantastic social side for those who want to get more involved. Mrs B’s dancers are regularly invited to take part in optional events, from appearing as a walking entry in the local carnival—always a crowd favourite—to enjoying memorable trips like weekends at Blackpool Tower Ballroom with live Rock ‘n’ Roll bands, record hops and even travelling by vintage bus to a local diner for food and dancing. These events are always great fun and a wonderful way to connect with others, although they are entirely optional and may involve additional costs.

These sessions are more than just dance lessons—they’re a chance to meet new people, keep active and be part of a growing community that shares a love of Rock ‘n’ Roll. With great venues, fantastic music and a supportive environment, Mrs B’s Rock, Roll and Stroll Lessons are a brilliant way to add something fun and uplifting to your week.

No need to be an expert—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to step onto the dance floor!
