Businesswomen UnLtd – Connecting and Supporting Women in Business Across South Somerset
Businesswomen UnLtd is a thriving networking community dedicated to supporting female entrepreneurs, professionals and business owners. In South Somerset, the groups in Chard and Taunton are led by Debbie Gilbert, who has created a welcoming and supportive environment where women can connect, collaborate and grow their businesses. The regular meetings bring together women from a wide range of industries, providing the opportunity to introduce their businesses, share ideas and build meaningful professional relationships.
One of the key benefits of Businesswomen UnLtd is its flexible and accessible approach to networking. There is no membership fee, and attendees simply pay for the meetings they attend, making it easy for women to join in whenever it suits them. The group is also open to those who are not yet running a business. Start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs and women considering starting their own venture are all warmly welcomed, making it a supportive place to gain ideas, confidence and encouragement.
Debbie is passionate about creating a network that is both friendly and productive. The meetings are relaxed but structured, making them ideal for both experienced networkers and those attending for the first time. Members are encouraged to share their knowledge, offer support and celebrate each other’s successes, helping to build confidence as well as valuable business connections.
In addition to the in-person meetings, Debbie keeps the community engaged through weekly newsletters, regular online networking events, and an active Facebook group where members can continue conversations, promote their services and keep up to date with upcoming meetings and opportunities. These online platforms help extend the sense of community beyond the networking sessions themselves.
A highlight of the Businesswomen UnLtd calendar is Debbie’s annual Shining Star Awards, which celebrate the achievements and contributions of members across the network. The awards recognise women who have demonstrated outstanding business success, supported others within the community, or made a positive impact through their work, showcasing the talent, dedication and success of women in business.
Through her leadership of the Chard and Taunton groups, Debbie Gilbert continues to strengthen the Businesswomen UnLtd community across South Somerset, creating a supportive space where women can gain confidence, share experiences and develop lasting business friendships.
