Swansea university continues to be one of the most successful in attracting overseas students.
They are attracted by th eseaside location and the wide range of courses on offer.
Also Swansea has quite deliberately set itself up to appeal to those wishing to study from abroad.
Foreign students pay well in excess of the money the University receives for British students.
This can be up to £15000.
The University this year will attract upwards of 3000 overseas undergraduates and those wishing to take higher degrees.
A lot will remain in the city throughout the year not returning home and this of course continues to benefit the local shops especially in the Brynmill Uplands and sketty areas.
With the new campus set to welcome students next year these numbers will grow further.
