Councillors in Morriston in Swansea have decided to brighten up the town with new lights and flower displays.
They have allocated a budget for replacing lamp standards that were in poor condition.
The new lights will be high tech LED units which are more efficient and give out a better light.
The posts will be stronger and will have brackets that will support hanging baskets.
This is a concerted effort to make the main shopping street more attractive.
In addition there will be money spent on floral displays at the entrance to the town as well as new benches for Morriston Park.
All in all a great investment in making the town more attractive.
