Swansea communities plant poppies in readiness to commemorate the Great War

Swansea Council confirm that they have distributed a whopping 35Kg of Poppy seeds. 

The seeds which have been handed out to residents,community and local groups have been planted with a view to being in bloom by the 4th August.

This is the anniversary of the start of the Great War.

Of course this year is the centenary of the conflict.

In addition the council has been busy planting poppies around the Civic Building and Cenotaph.
