Redevelopment at Swansea hospital will cause short term disruption

The next phase of redevelopment at Swansea's Morriston hospital is likely to cause disruption to car and bus travellers to the facility.

A new block which will house several specialist departments including the diabetes treatment centre is about to commence construction.

The work will result in a further state of the art building replacing very old premises that are no longer fit for purpose.

In the meantime there will be some headaches for visitors who arrive by car and bus as there will be closure of some internal roadways within the hospital meaning that some bus stops will be temporarily lost as will one of the access routes to the multi storey carpark.

These are temporary measures to ensure that heavy construction work can proceed quickly and safely.

If it gives us the promised top level hospital services in Swansea I am sure it will be worth it.
