Work has started on a brand new primary school in Swansea.
The new Burlais school - an £8million project that will eventually cater for over five hundred pupils.
The new facility will replace two existing schools.
Both Cwmbwrla and Manselton primary schools date from the Victorian era.
When Burlais Primary school opens it will also provide a nursery facility and cater for special educational needs.
The ground was broken by Swansea football legend Mel Nurse who as a youngster developed his skills on the park at Cwmbwrla where the new school is being built.
