A backlash has started to gain momentum against the unpopular Litter Wardens.
Since they were first put on the streets in September they have issued 600 on the spot fines.
These have included examples of people throwing away coffee cups and food packaging which is understandable.
Of more contention is where people have been fined for spitting.
As has been pointed out there does not seem to be as much appetite for action to be taken on a Saturday night in Wind Street!
There is a facebook campaign that is attracting a lot of support for the withdrawal of the Wardens.
