News announced that there is a proposal for a very large solar panel farm on the outskirts of Swansea.
The farm will have 47000 solar panels which will have a capacity to deliver the power requirements for up to 3000 houses.
The application is for land in Llangufelach.
Whilst the proposal is for a development on a very large scale the applicants have pointed out that there will still be grazing for animals around the installation.
If the proposal went ahead it would save 300000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
There will also be massive opportunities for local contractors to be employed during the construction and implementation phases.
