Autumn Statement announcements bring relief for our local high street.
The Chancellor has announced today that there will be support for our high street businesses with a rebate of £1000 per business and a maximum annual increase capped at 2%.
Cautious welcome of the news from small businesses that have been hard pressed with increasing rates ironically against a backdrop of steady or even falling rents in recent years.
We need to get more shops open on our high street and this has got to be a good start.
