Joe Dunthorne whose first book Submarine has been hailed as one of the greatest pieces of Welsh writing.
Born in the Mount Pleasant area of Swansea and a former pupil at Olchfa his book has been described as a masterpiece of modern Welshness.
Submarine is a book about a boy's coming of age and has been adapted into a film.
Joe is now working on his third novel but is really flattered by the news of this nomination.
