Search engine giant Google is developing an OS ( operating system ) for personal computers.  In 2010 Google Chrom OS is set to hit the shelves in a direct challenge to market leading Microsoft and Windows

Google Chrome OS is set to be released in 2010 and will be aimed at the notebook market ( the ultra low cost portable computers that have sprung up over the last 2 years )

According to a Google blog, Google Chrome OS is all about ""Speed, simplicity and security"

Google Chrome OS will be going head to head with long time market leaders Microsoft and their Windows OS and unlike Windows, Google OS is going back to basics.  "We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds," according to a blog posted by Sundar Pichai, vice president of product management, and Google's engineering director Linus Upson.

So will Mr Bill Gates have some competition in 2010...we think so!
