Swansea's poppy initiative has been copied by Slough.

The council decided to issue packets of poppy seeds for residents to plant to commemorate the centenary of the First Worl War.

It has been a great success with local organisations getting together with locals and the council to plant up swathes of land with the symbolic flower.

The idea has been taken up by Slough who have issued their ratepayers with free seeds to again provide a carpet of colour to recognise the fallen of WW1.
