The plans which will see a total redevelopment of the Hill House site on Cockett Road will cost £40m.
The plans will include expansion of the teaching faculty and a sports complex.
The proposal will also see the construction of a conference centre.
Concerns have been raised about the impact of additional traffic at an already congested area of the city.
In the plans submitted there is provision for highway improvements to alleviate some of these problems.
This is an exciting proposal that will benefit Swansea greatly.
