Apparently Singleton hospital baby unit is reaching bursting point.
The facility which is due a major £3m overhaul is struggling to cope with the pressures of expectant Swansea mums.
As a result a plea has gone out that only emergency cases of labour are referred to the hospital.
Less pressing cases are being directed to sister hospitals at Bridgend and other locations.
