Returned to the fox after it was reopened by new owners. Just had a fantastic Sunday lunch. Can’t recommend the beef enough ! Mouthwatering. Had the sticky toffee pudding after being advised by our waitress and it was heavenly. Service was attentive and friendly. 2 adults and one child very happy and full. Looking forward to return.

Great meal with friends last Saturday at the newly reopened Bulmer Fox! The restaurant has been freshly refurbished and the atmosphere had a lovely ambience. We were seated in a booth which was very comfortable and private. Food was delicious and service was attentive and friendly. Would recommend booking in advance!

We had a late table so restaurant was very busy when we arrived, but staff were very attentive and extremely polite and professional.
Food was top notch and interesting with some specials added to the regular menu. You definitely wont go home hungry or disappointed! We had guests from Germany who are real foodies and were very impressed.
We also had a disabled member in the group and the staff were very accommodating and helpful both before and during our visit and the disabled facilities and access are excellent. Only negative - soft drinks are very expensive. Will definitely be going back!

Popped over for lunch with a friend, we didn't book but were glad we'd got there early as part way through service they were full and having to turn people away! They bring a carafe of water and glasses to the table for everyone, as part of their service, followed by a small board of bread, accompanied by a triangle of butter, for you to munch on.I had the Portobello mushroom & cheddar rarebit on toasted focaccia which was divine, with a side order of hand cut chips. The chips had skins on, which wouldn't be to every one's taste, however, I found them delicious. I followed with cheesecake, which had a lovely tart berry compote to accompany it. The table service was excellent throughout and nothing was too much trouble. Well done, and I'm sure we'll be back :)

Visited for lunch. Thought the refurbishment was fresh although very little different.
Two mains chosen, the fish pie had only a white fish and salmon, not a prawn in sight and the fish and chips were average, the fish bland, and the chips definitely not homemade although the kitchen said that they were. The peas with this dish were very strange, a crushed garden pea. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Underwhelmed and won’t rush back.

This pub went through a period when it was sometimes open and sometimes closed to the effect that you could never be sure it was going to be open. So we tended to avoid it. I think it also changed hands a couple of times.
Happily it is new ownership and has joined a small group of existing pubs / restaurants in the Bury St Edmunds area that are linked to the Brewshed Brewery. It has been extensively refurbished through summer 2019 and is now newly re-opened.
The premises are smart, light and airy and very well presented. Staff members were welcoming and friendly. Although a pub it also operates as a restaurant with many tables laid up for eating. The menu is interesting.
There was a good choice of draft real ales on offer, based on the beers from Brewshed Brewery which I particularly like, though not from there exclusively. We ordered only baguettes from the menu rather than a full meal and this was not a problem. The food we ordered was nicely presented, tasted delicious and the baguettes were well filled.
Whilst not as cheap as some other premises we were happy to pay the slight premium because of the nature of the premises, the good food and beer and excellent service.
Outside there is an extensive car park.
Perhaps it is because it is a ‘new’ venue in the Sudbury area, but early on Thursday lunchtime the premises were full. Luckily we had reserved a table (based upon the experience of someone else who has called there on Monday the same week). We heard several casual callers without a booking face the choice of a long wait or leaving and going elsewhere – so be warned.
Like the other pubs in the small group, I image this one will remain popular and well customised. I am definitely likely to make a return visit.
