The menu changes, but the Wednesday pies are superb!!
More seriously, the Crown is now part of a chain, which always makes me wary, but as far as the food goes, there has been no need. I'm not going to go through various dishes, but I've never had anything tat has been less than a nice surprise...ok I'll mention three; the Wednesday lunch beef pies.....quite simply one of the best, if not the best, I've had. Venison on garlic mash with kale...and I don't even like kale, but I ate all of this and the venison (I think it may have been muntjac?) was wonderfully pink and succulent. Muntjac is one of the best of meats.........Homemade cinnamon doughnuts with apple puree and toffee sauce....as delicious as it reads.
The staff have always been so pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. Love it. Not cheap, indeed, a little pricey.....but love it when I can afford it!

Really great experience all round when having an eye test and choosing frames. Kirsty was very helpful and patient with me as it took me ages to decide on the frames as there was such a good choice. I'm very happy with my varifocal lenses and really cool frames that I just love. Would defiantly recommend.
