Amazing Food & Service
Over the last few months David & his family have supplied coffee when they could. Then they started Takeaway, burgers or Scampi delicious. Then the occasional takeaway fillet Steak - wow.
Tonight the first guests were looked after. Most delicious Steak with home made sauces. Burgers with blue cheese.

This bistro is an excellent little family business which offers superb cooked foid, coffee,wine and cakes. Also newspapers, books and even dvds.

Passing through & great coffee
I had heard on the grapevine that you could get one of Thompson’s great coffees so I rang ahead, no queuing nor waiting as we are not allowed to, I was asked if I wanted anything else, one of the famous bacon and egg subs was waiting as well - wow.

What were we missing more than anything in this lockdown - David's coffee.
Well, surprise, surprise much to our amazement David has opened for take away coffees and scones, wonderful. It made our day last Wednesday to call in, have a chat and buy our coffee and cake. Tasted so good and as we walked through Sudbury and two people asked where we brought our coffees from. Looking forward to next Wednesday as we have ordered hot dogs and coffee, (David is extending his menu already). What would we do without this great man and his amazing menu.

What a little gem! This venue, which curiously bans under-13's, is ideal for breakfast in that we were well-looked-after, with excellent coffeee arriving promptly, followed by perfectly-cooked scrambled eggs with delicious smoked salmon. The menu appears to be restricted to those items they do well (can't argue with that), and the environment is spaciously laid-out such that you are not cramped - (if only I was local) I could see myself lounging here with newspapers and more coffee (or possibly wine!) for many an afternoon. Highly recommended, especially without young children...

I haven’t a photo of the lush lemon cake, but in my opinion it’s one of loveliest cakes I have ever encountered!!!! A lovely cafe for grownups an a hidden gem for Sudbury! I would highly recommend further investigation!

My last review of David’s Cafe rated his bacon sarnie the second best ever, since then David took up the challenge to produce the no.1 and today when we revisited he was ready for me, he’d prepared himself and had sage and onion Paxo at the ready, retired into the Kitchen and after much steaming and hissing (from the equipment, not from him) produced the BEST BACON SARNIE! Well Done David!
PS. I am a Caff expert, after a lifetime of searching for the perfect bacon sarnie, I’ve finally found the place.

Easy to find this delightful place provides a variety of dishes for lunch and evening meals. David is famous for his coffee which never disappoints. An array of photos and memorabilia on the walls showed the owner had been a Formula Ford racing driver. Luckily we were able to have a chat with him which proved really interesting.
