London Southend Airport has rated highest in easyJet’s latest Customer Satisfaction Survey across its European airports.

Over 26,000 passengers were asked for their opinion when travelling through London’s newest airport, which resulted in a satisfaction score of 92% - the highest result. This beat scores from more than one hundred airports across Europe, including other London airports such as Luton, Gatwick and Stansted.

The survey which was conducted across all of easyJet’s airports, asked travellers to rate their satisfaction on key factors  - this included the check-in process, aircraft, punctuality, boarding procedures, overall satisfaction with the airport and friendliness of easyJet crew.

The research showed that 95% were satisfied with London Southend Airport, 98% were satisfied with the length of time at check in and 100 per cent of passengers were satisfied with the efficiency of check-in staff. The punctuality of easyJet’s flights from London Southend also featured highly, along with the warmth and friendliness of the Southend-based crew.

Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager commented “We are thrilled that our passengers are so happy with the service that easyJet is delivering from London Southend Airport.  It’s testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the operation there and we are confident that we’ll keep levels of customer satisfaction flying high.”

Since the launch of operations at London Southend on 2 April 2012, easyJet has flown over half a million passengers to the popular leisure and business destinations of Amsterdam, Alicante, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Geneva, Ibiza, Jersey, Malaga and Mallorca - providing an easy and affordable alternative to travellers who are looking to escape the stress and crowds of the larger London Airports.  Flights to Venice start in February and to Berlin, Krakow and Newquay in June.

London Southend Airport Managing Director Alastair Welch says “At Southend we work hard to ensure we deliver on our commitments to passengers – that they should wait no more than 4 minutes to go through security and that, on arrival with hand baggage, they are on the rail station platform within 15 minutes of leaving the aircraft. With the choice of up to 8 trains an hour to Liverpool Street - our current offer of free long stay parking in January and February* - we hope that even more passengers will choose to come and experience London's newest airport. We designed our new facilities to be ‘simply easier’ and we are thrilled that so many of easyJet’s passengers agree.”
