This is a spectacular 74 mile bike ride from Cambridge to Southend to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, on Saturday 24th March..

The ride starts in Cambridge at 7:30am and is due to finish in Southchurch Park, Southend, near the café, from 12 noon.

As well as providing marshalls for the event, Cycle Southend has been organising training rides to help participants get limbered up for the challenge.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s Executive Councillor for Public Protection, Waste and Transport, Councillor Tony Cox said: “We are very pleased that Southend has been picked as the destination for this prestigious charity ride.

“The route, through picturesque countryside links these two contrasting towns, and riders taking part can be assured of a warm welcome here when they arrive.

“We would encourage those not cycling on the day, to come along and show their support by cheering the riders as they cross the finish line.
