Young people aged from 14 to 19 are invited to a wide-ranging Careers Fair on Wednesday 13th March.
The event, from 9.30am until 3pm at Shoeburyness Youth Centre, Delaware Road, Shoeburyness, includes representatives of at least 50 different local and national employers and training providers – as well as universities and colleges.
It is an ideal way for young people to see some of the opportunities available and talk over their possible next steps with many different people. They can also find out about benefits, student bursaries, courses and lots more.Connexions Personal Advisors will be on hand ready to discuss any of the issues.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s Executive Councillor for Children and Learning, Councillor James Courtenay said: “This event will be a great help to young people. I am delighted that under one roof there will be so many potential employers, as well as those who can help young people gain the qualifications that most suit them. These include vocational qualifications or further/higher education courses. “Young people who are wondering about their futures will have the opportunity to find out a host of information as well as get advice on how to stand out to future employers.”
