Lane closures – Cuckoo Corner

Overnight lane closures will take place at Cuckoo Corner next week to enable further road improvement works.

The Council’s contractors PEEK will be carrying out slot-cutting operations in advance of the installation of new traffic signals at the junction.

Some of this work may cause noise nuisance to local residents but the majority of the work will be completed before 11pm.

The resurfacing of footpaths around the Cuckoo Corner junction has already started and is being carried out during the day.

Priory Crescent has been largely completed and the footpaths along Prince Avenue are scheduled to be resurfaced next.

Resurfacing work on the remaining sections of carriageway around the junction will also commence on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd February, but they are dependant on the weather.

Victoria Avenue will be closed northbound from Fairfax Drive to the Cuckoo Corner roundabout from 10pm on Tuesday to 5am on Wednesday.

The southbound carriageway will be closed from the Cuckoo Corner roundabout to Prittlewell Chase from 10pm on Wednesday to 5am on Thursday 3rd February.

If the resurfacing work cannot be completed by Wednesday work will continue on Thursday 3rd and/or Friday 4th February from 10pm to 5am.

Residents wishing to gain access to Victoria Avenue, Earls Hall Parade and Burr Hill Chase will be provided with a pass to show to the workforce on site and will be allowed through.

The Council apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause. Once they have been completed no further resurfacing should be required.
