Show your heart some tender loving care by joining a new fitness drive at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre.

This month’s ‘Love your Heart’ campaign at the Centre, at Garon Park, off Eastern Avenue, Southend, encourages people to take regular exercise every week – from gym sessions to swimming.

There is no joining fee, and participants will receive a free pedometer with step count, showing the distance in km/miles and a calorie burn counter.

New members will also be given a free record card, fridge magnet and a healthy eating fact sheet along with a free induction, a fitness programme and six week review.

Customers will also have the chance to buy Parkwood’s very own ten track workout from ITunes for only £4.49, with 20 per cent of the profits being donated to Heart UK.

For more details, contact Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre on 01702 442903 or 01702 442906 or email: southendmemberships@parkwood-communityleisure.co.uk

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis said: “While the buzz of London 2012 is still very much in evidence, this ‘Love your heart’ campaign is an excellent invitation to encourage residents to take regular exercise with guidance and the chance to monitor their increasing fitness.

“We hope as many people as possible will make the most of this opportunity.”
