Fun at the Southend Film Festival!
Building on the sucesses of the previous three festivals, the Southend-On-Sea Film Festival consolidatied its position as the largest film festival in Essex last weekend.
On Thursday 3rd May 2012 Southend Film Festival once again impressed local residents and tourists from all over with their opening Gala Night at the Odean Cinema in Southend followed by the after party at the Park Inn Palace Hotel.
Maintaining the focus on British independant films they were delighted to present 'Hard Boiled Sweets', a gritty thriller filmed in Southend, as a very worthy film for their red-carpet Opening Gala!
I was delighted to be able to take part in watching this new gritty, thriller!
Filmed in Southend-On-Sea itself, and with a fabulous cast & crew, Hard Boiled sweets is a fictional story revolving around drugs, shady coppers and east end gangs. Well worth a watch when it is released on DVD later this year.
Being able to meet Festival Patron Ray Winstone, local actress Kierston Waring (Top Boy & Inside Men) and other various celebrities at this star studded event was a fantastic experience and a great night was had by all whom attended.!
