Southend-on-Sea Borough Council will temporarily close a number of roads and introduce ‘no stopping’ zones to allow for the Battle of Britain Parade event on Sunday 16th September.

For reasons of public safety the following roads will be closed from 10.30am to 11.30am and from 12.30pm to 1.30pm:

  • Chancellor Road – the left turn lane at the junction with Church Road
  • Church Road – from the Chancellor Road junction to the High Street
  • Royal Terrace – from the Clifton Terrace junction to the High Street
  • Pier Hill – in its entirety

The following roads will be subject to ‘no stopping (temporary prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading)’ orders from 10am to 1pm:

  • Church Road – from St John’s Church to the High Street
  • Royal Terrace – from the Clifton Terrace junction to the High Street

Vehicles belonging to Essex Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust, St John Ambulance, HM Coast Guard and the RNLI are not affected by the temporary road closures or ‘no stopping’ zones.
