Had a brilliant day here yesterday, with my hubby and 20 year old daughter. Love that you can wander around the shop and various stalls, outside and lunch without having to pay for the exhibition. We did go into the exhibition and found it really interesting as visitors to the area and reasonably priced.
The lunch we had from the cafe was delicious - had freshly made sandwiches and gorgeous cakes. We bought books, gem bracelets and a few other bits which were well priced.
We also had a couple of hours in the outdoors and a little paddle.
The people who worked there were really friendly and helpful too.
Wish it was closer to home as we’d be regular visitors!

Great day out exploring the Onny Meadows with loads of birdlife, butterflies and dragonflies. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the cafe afterwards

It turned out to be the perfect place to begin our exploration of the Shropshire Hills. Set in acres of meadows that are curated by local volunteers to promote and protect the local biodiversity, and bordered by the beautiful river Onny, the centre is brimming with information on the wildlife, geology, history and culture of the area. We found guides to walks, attractions and things to do in the area. The staff were very welcoming helpful and knowledgeable. There's a lovely museum complete with Mammoth. a fab cafe and an interesting shop great for gifts and interesting sustainable living. Well worth a visit. We'll be back

Staying locally this place is just round the corner from our accommodation. We have walked from the cottage and used it to both start local walks from and end up back here after long walks as the facilities are excellent.
There are short walks with lots of signs and things to see all signposted and explained.
The cafe has inside and outside dining with all kinds of snacks up to full meals.
I would also like to mention the two young men serving in the cafe who are the most polite and helpful young men around. They both work extremely hard and are a credit to the Discovery Centre in how they are recognised by management.

Big spacious café and well populated so I'm quite surprised by the reviews on here. To be fair, there are only 2 reviews on TA this year so probably quite unrepresentative.

Staff were pleasant and there is an efficient process for delivering your order to your table.

Coffee was very good and there was a good choice of cake and savouries.

No complaints, I'd visit again to avoid the NT queue and fayre on offer at Attingham Park.

Convenient location, busy popular coffee shop. We eat here quite often or just pop in for a coffee as the food is normally a known standard, usually very good, lovely coffee, friendly staff, value for money and quick service. The scones are excellent and go very quickly. They do take the top off the pot of clotted cream when it is served, I would rather it was left on to remove ourselves when we are ready. Today we had the cheese and tomato paninis, unfortunately they were not enjoyable at all, the cheese was tasteless (it was mozzarella so very bland), the tomato had made the panini taste soggy and was like eating raw dough! They were below the normal standard. I did mention this to one of the girls, not for a refund or anything but just to let them know we hadn’t enjoyed our meal (for the first time ever), she told someone who I image was the manageress who came out and explained that it states Mozzarella on the menu and I could have requested cheddar. This was not clear on the menu or on the board by the counter nor was it mentioned to us at the point of ordering but nice to know for future visits. I found her to be very defensive about the fact we hadn’t enjoyed our meal and came straight in (rather in my face) saying we could have requested cheddar. Well, now we know thank you. We will go again, this was just one bad experience after many good ones.

Love this place! My husband and myself visit every week sometimes for lunch, sometimes for coffee and cake. we have taken friends and family and are never disappointed. Although it is VERY busy, service is absolutely great and the staff are lovely and friendly. There is a breakfast menu that finishes at 11.30. After that its the usual sandwiches, toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes and soup and its all excellent. I can recommend the prawn sandwich!
