Children given a Starter 4 Ten Account by Hinckley & Rugby Building Society

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society seeks to get local young people saving with a great new children’s savings account – Starter 4 Ten
The Starter 4 Ten is branch based – so it is really good for young savers in Rugby who just need a tenner to open the account!
The account can be opened and operated by the child and Starter 4 Ten comes with a bonus – it pays 2.0 per cent interest on savings up to £1,000 and 2.25 per cent for balances above.
Access is instant and any withdrawals are penalty-free.
Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has launched the new branch-based account to help meet the challenge of educating children from an early age about the benefits of saving.

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society
chief executive Chris White said: “Starter 4 Ten is the perfect introduction to saving. Children can open and operate the account themselves, or a parent or guardian can do so on their behalf. Because it has a passbook, the young people can see how their money grows with each payment in – whether it is after birthdays, perhaps, or just spare pocket money – and when they see the interest added they can learn good saving habits for life.”
