National Blood Week 13th to 19th June 2011

National Blood Week in England North Wales is from 13th to 19th June 2011.

During the week there are lots of events to encourage more people to become regular blood donors with the support of celebrities. Do have a look at the National Blood Site for more details for what is happening around the country.

Did you know World Blood Donor Day was on 14 June 2011 and it was the birthday of Nobel Prize winner Karl Landsteiner who discovered the blood grouping system?

National Blood Week is supported by the World Health Organization and aims to raise the awareness of the importance of blood donation!  Can you help raise awareness of the importance of safe blood donation and encourage your family and friends to make a date to donate!

During National Blood Week it is hoped to recruit 10,000 new donors to join the existing donors and help save and improve more lives.

Please take the opportunity to do something amazing and give blood in Rugby?
