Ladies Register NOW for this year's Rugby Rokeby Lions annual Pancake Race in Rugby Town Centre! A strictly fun event to help raise funds for deserving causes in and around the Rugby area.

Apart from our own Lions' Charities, this year's designated recipient will be:-'Kerry's Wheelchair Fund'

You can Register now and up until 14th February 2012 for the Pancake Race to be held on Tuesday 21st February 2012

Once again, Rugby Rokeby Lions are approaching local individuals, groups and companies in an endeavour to maintain the tradition of a Pancake Race in Rugby and also to invite any ladies to take part in this our annual fancy dress event, which is a strictly fun event to help raise funds for deserving causes in and around the Rugby area.

Apart from our own Lions' Charities, this year's designated recipient will be:-

'Kerry's Wheelchair Fund'

The Fund has been set up in order to purchase a specially designed and constructed wheelchair to help a 34 year old mother of two, Kerry McAlpine, who contracted the rare and untreatable condition known as Arachnoiditis following complications after back surgery, that leaves her in constant pain and discomfort.

She has been more or less housebound for the past three years and with the aid of a specially-designed and adjustable wheelchair, she would have greater scope and flexibility to be able to cope with her constant pain as well as resuming and connecting with family life once again. Whilst the cost of the specialist wheelchair is £19,500, this seems a small price to pay to help this brave young mother get back towards the quality of life that most of us take for granted.

So please, why not enter or just donate if you are averse to exercise, just for the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped someone overcome their not inconsiderable problems.

To register please contact any of the following by Tuesday 14 February 2012, at the latest, to ensure entry and a pancake on Race day:

Lion Mike Swan:  01788 521205
Lion Terry Byrne|:  01788 576011
Lion John O'Rourke:  07904 216762
