Registration is now open for LADIES wishing to enter this year's Rugby Rokeby Lions Annual Ladies Fancy Dress Charity Pancake Race being held in Rugby Town Centre!

It is a strictly fun event to help raise funds for deserving causes in and around the Rugby area.

This year the Ladies’ Fancy Dress Charity Pancake Race is taking place on Tuesday 12th  February 2013 - Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)

Once again, Rugby Rokeby Lions are approaching local individuals, groups and companies in an endeavour to maintain the tradition of a Pancake Race in Rugby and also to invite any ladies to take part in this our annual fancy dress event, which is a strictly fun event to help raise funds for deserving causes in and around the Rugby area.

Apart from our own Lions' Charities, this year's designated recipients will be Rugby Young Carers.

Rugby Young Carers Group is part of the Warwickshire Young Carers' Project, which works with Carers from the age of 8 upwards, and aims to help improve the lives of young carers in Rugby and across Warwickshire. They support young carers in their caring role, give them an opportunity to relax, take a break and help them to realise their own dreams away from caring for someone who may have an illness, disability or drug or alcohol dependency.

The services offered by Warwickshire Young Carers' Project include someone to listen to young carers and support them; Help for young carers to access help from other agencies and service providers; Help for young carers to get their point across and be heard; Provide opportunities for young carers to meet other young carers, make new friends, learn new skills and have fun; Regular group activities, workshops, days out and short-breaks; Provide support for young carers with their educational needs; Help young carers to achieve their goals, have their own life and succeed in the things they may be struggling with.

The Warwickshire Young Carers' Project strives to raise public awareness of young unpaid carers in Rugby and Warwickshire and encourage a wider recognition of their tremendous contribution to society.
