Come along to Rugby Art Gallery and Museum on Friday evening 18 May 2012 when you can put your bravery to the test

This Museums at Night event is part of the European-wide campaign of the same name (La Nuit de Musées) taking place in May.

The event celebrates the exciting experiences that museums can provide.

Meet our Egyptian friends and foes and learn about ancient times but watch out for wandering mummies in our Egyptian area.

You may also get to see and touch the live reptiles and creepy crawlies that are visiting the Museum that night.

In the art gallery experience an enchanting opportunity to see paintings come to life through music and try your hand at playing instruments inspired by the paintings.

Also, ‘Meet the Masters!’ Local art group ‘Art Lab’ take on the persona of artists from the Rugby Collection including their style of dress and demonstration of their painting techniques.

Throughout the evening, visitors can try their hand at various art activities or have their faces painted.

Our Victorian studio will be open for people to pose and have their photographs taken (charges apply for photographs).

Elsewhere in the museum, visitors can encounter the amazing Animal Man and his live animals, which includes the opportunity to handle certain creepy crawlies… if you dare.

Slots run every half an hour but due to popular demand please book a free place by calling Rugby Visitor Centre: (01788) 533217.
