The car park of the Riverside (Whitworth Civic Hall) will play host to a Family Fun Day on Saturday 14 August.  Organised by Whitworth Town Council’s Tourism and Leisure Committee, the event will run from 12 noon to 5pm and aims to provide fun entertainment for all members of the family.

Enjoy the thrills and spills of a wide variety of family fun attractions for tiny tots to teenagers.   There will be entertainments and games, a variety of stalls including face-painting, and a range of rides, including Ring the Bell, swingboats, giant slides and roundabouts, and new rides for the older kids.  There will also be hot and cold food and drinks, the Riverside bar will be open, and Animal Quackers Petting Farm in Bacup will be holding a ‘Pet’s Corner’.  Entry is free, with a small charge made per ride.

Whitworth Mayor and Councillor David Chorlton, Chair of the Tourism and Leisure Committee, explains: “Although the Tourism and Leisure Committee has a proven history of organising similar events, such as the annual Rushcart festivities, this the first time we have organised a mid-summer family-friendly fun day.  The Riverside car park is the perfect location, and we’re hopeful for good weather on the day.”

Free entry, small charge per ride.  For more information, please contact Karen Douglas, Town Clerk on 01706 852018 / email info@whitworth.gov.uk.
