The Business MOT worksheet is what we peruse with our clients during our one to one meetings and business workshops. The MOT highlights the main features of your business,  including how to market your business through social media, the importance of having sharp and informal business features, what makes you stand out from other businesses, how to attain your target audience  and important aspects potential clients should know about you.

Why is Social Media so Important for Marketing Your Business?

As we all know social media, especially Facebook, is proven to be a very valuable and an influential communication tool in this technological era, reaching out to millions worldwide this networking tool is the 21st century’s way forward.

- Facebook For Business

Facebook claims to have 1.28 billion active users with over 800 million users active daily. A good percentage of your target audience will already be on Facebook.

We highly recommend that you use Facebook’s targeting options available to you. They include: location, age, gender, language, interests, behaviours and connections. Below is an example of a targeting setup on Facebook:

A wedding cake company which offers bespoke cakes for weddings in the UK. The company’s audience is defined through location, age and the person’s relationship status (Engaged in this case). Because this campaign is so specific, the majority of viewers will be within the businesses’ target audience, which means they will have more click through rates generating more customers.

It is always recommended to approach your specific target audience when they are in a fairly unique relaxed mind-set. (FB better for b2c) it can be difficult to get your message through in conventional work hours as people are always too busy to view a post. People are generally more active on Facebook first thing in the morning (7-9am), the middle of the day (12-1pm) and in the evening (6-11pm).

- Twitter For Business

It is estimated that over 200 million people use Twitter which calculates at about 65 million “tweets” per day.

There are many reasons using twitter can be useful for business but here are the main reasons:

1) It is free and easy to use. Signing up takes just a few minutes and using it takes the same amount of time however you can get lost in the moment of browsing profiles and “following” people.

2) It is who you know not what you know. Twitter has a super-advanced search that makes it easy to locate people who may help your business grow. It is an endless cycle that is sure to increase your business.

3) Everything happens in real-time. Stories, news, rumours and ideas spread like wildfire.

- LinkedIn - what is all the fuss about?

LinkedIn is a website that offers unique benefits since it is specifically targeted toward professionals and businesses. It allows you to list your contacts, see who they know, and then see who you’re connected to in turn.

Make sure you’ve got a good profile.  Put a little thought into how you want the world to see you and your business.  Remember that search engines will pick up your LinkedIn page, so if someone is looking specifically for you or your company, they might well find that first.  Spend a little time on this by making sure that you’ve got your key messages right and that everything is up to date.

- Youtube For Business

You must continually think of ways to get your products and services in front of as many people as possible, all without breaking the bank. Using YouTube for your business can be a cost-effective way to grow it, if used regularly as part of your marketing strategy: with over 4 billion videos viewed daily!

Video-streaming platforms like YouTube have become so big you’re guaranteed to find a group of people who will become your raving fans and customers, as long as you educate, entertain and provide solutions to their problems. In doing this, you’re also increasing the authority of your website. The more authoritative your website is in Google’s eyes, the higher all your pages will rank in the search results.

Your Business Feature Page

It is extremely important that you have an informative, professional and engaging website or feature page in this day and age. A professional website design will entice customers to buy from you, this is because you are providing them with an enhanced experience when they visit your site. A professional site not only means the owner cares about their business and their online image but makes visitors feel the company and site is a trustworthy place to shop and that they are safe to give their personal details, and purchase from you. This can dramatically increase your sales, calls and leads.

On the other note, an unprofessional site will do the opposite and people are more likely to leave your site. If they feel it is a poorly designed site, unprofessional looking and hard to use they will leave and go onto the next within seconds.

How we display your feature page at thebestof

Once a client has signed up to our marketing service we create a business feature page for them on our website. This page includes an introduction about their company, their business services, reviews, images, any company videos, events and blogs. We then push out their business through a variety of marketing schemes, including social media, videos, posts on our website, blogs, a mention in our daily newsletter, at our networking events and much more!

Success Story – We are proud to have Signature Catering on board with us. Signature Catering are a business that offer a wide range of luxury catering services, from  wedding three course meals, canapés, afternoon tea, luxury buffets, BBQ’s, hog roasts and corporate refreshments in the Poole and Bournemouth area.  We invited Signature Catering to our bestof Poole Networking Event at Sandown Mercedes-Benz of Poole (another bestof member) to prepare all of the evening’s corporate canapés and drinks for 60 guests. During this event we took professional photographs of the catering team and their exquisite food, handed out their business cards and collected reviews from our guests at the event – what a raving success it was! Well done Signature Catering.
